Carlton Gentry Garrett, 89, a longtime resident of Granville County passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at The Granville House.
A native of Orange County, he was the son of the late William Allen Garrett and Annie Duncan Garrett. Carlton was in the Army during the Korean War in 1951 to 1953. He was in the Occupational Forces serving in Germany, Austria and Italy as a Combat Engineer building roads and bridges.
Graveside services will be held in Elmwood Cemetery at 2:00 PM Sunday, June 28, 2020 by Rev. Johnny Yount. Visitation will be held from 12:30 to 1:30 PM at Eakes Funeral Home in Oxford, prior to the Graveside Service.
Surviving are his four sons, Ronald Dennis Garrrett (Wanda) of Oxford, Scott Wayne Garrett (Shelia) of Clayton, Richard Hamme Garrett (Leslie) of Rougemont, Allen Carlton Garrett (Laura) of Greenville; three granddaughters, five grandsons, one great grandson and two great granddaughters. He was preceded in death by his wives Grace Garrett and Audrey Garrett and a grandson, Bradley Wilkins.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Amedisys Foundation (Hospice), 3320 US 1 Hwy Suite B, Franklinton, N.C.
