The Roxboro Community School soccer team coasted past Oxford Prep, 7-0 Wednesday on the road.
With the victory, the Bulldogs moved to 7-3 overall and 5-2 in the North Central Athletic Conference heading into Friday’s game against undefeated Franklin Academy.
Results of that game were unavailable at press time. The Patriots (12-0, 9-0) advanced to the 1A state finals a year ago and are second in the latest MaxPreps 1A Adjusted Rankings. RCS is currently 19th.
Mackenzie Oliver had a huge game for the Bulldogs in Wednesday’s win at Oxford Prep. The senior forward finished with five goals on just eight shots.
Mariana Alcaraz had the Bulldogs two other goals, while Emily Taylor finished with three assists.
Abby Lewis, Olivia Townsend and Kenley Long assisted on goals.
For the game, the Bulldogs had 16 corner kicks and 32 shots, 21 on goal.
RCS keeper Madison Dunkley finished with six saves to keep a clean sheet.
