Identity confirmed, no foul play in missing man case


In a Wednesday afternoon Facebook post, the Person County Sheriff’s Office announced that the body found Tuesday by deputies was that of William Daniel Holt and no foul play was involved.

The recovered body was sent to the North Carolina State Medical Examiner’s Office who confirmed Holt’s body was recovered and determined that no foul play was involved.

Holt had been missing for 68 days when his body was recovered Tuesday. He was last seen leaving his residence on Shiloh Church Road Dec. 20, 2019 to walk his dog.

The announcement was also confirmed in a later release from the Sheriff's Office.
