Andrew Paul Guzman, 81, of Roxboro, died Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2021. He was born in Middlesex County, Mass. on April 23, 1939. He is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Arlene Knowlen Guzman, his daughter, Joanne M. Maley and his sister Cheryl Guzman.
Mr. Guzman served in the United States Navy and was a member of Somerset Baptist Church. Mr. Guzman was a retired truck driver. He loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He enjoyed taking them to McDonald’s and looking for frogs in the woods. Mr. Guzman would give them silver pieces and made swords for them. He would bring them ice cream sandwiches, kiss their foreheads and tell them he was proud of them. As an avid sports fan, he loved talking sports with them. He watched football, baseball and golf, but never swung a club. Mr. Guzman loved coffee and woodworking.
Surviving are his six children: Sandra Jean Rogers of Roxboro, Nancy Mae “Grace” Maclone (Richard) of East Falmouth, Mass., Robert E. Bridges, Jr. (Laurie) of Roxboro, Donna Lee Kera (Craig) of Leominster, Mass., Kelly Anne LeBeau (Jim) of Ocoee, Fla. and Monica Guzman Knight, of Cheboygan, Mich.; one brother, Raoul Guzman; one sister, Victoria Picard; 15 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren.
A memorial graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 25, 2021 at Person Memorial Cemetery by the Rev. Tom Gearhart.
