Alton Wayne Wilkerson, 62, of Roxboro, died Friday evening, November 1, 2019 at his home. He was son of the late Kermit Lawson Wilkerson and Peggy Joyce Oakley Wilkerson. Alton was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was a master technician of transmissions at Performance Auto Mall located in Chapel Hill. Alton enjoyed spending time at Helena Broadwell’s Pet Grooming loving fur babies and visiting customers
He is survived by his wife, Helena Ann Broadwell Wilkerson; five children, Teresa Clayton, Amy Wilkerson, Samantha Carr (Cody), Arthur Carr and Grace Wilkerson; one brother, Larry Wilkerson; eight grandchildren, Matthew Lynch, Hannah Broadwell, Joseph Stepp, Joey Jacques, Bradley Wilborn, Alayna Wilborn, Austin Wilkerson and Noah Clayton; and four special children, Jessica Thayer, Kaitlyn Jones, Tammy Newcomb, and Dillon Wilborn; his previous wife and lifelong friend, Wanda Wilkerson.
The family will receive friends at the home, 161 Preston Pleasant Road, Roxboro. The memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 5, at the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints located at 441 Burlington Road, Roxboro, with the President, Mark Phillips, officiating. Burial will follow in the Person Memorial Cemetery.
